CIS of Baytown follows the Texas model of Case Management approach by offering eligible students and their families in one or more of the following services based on the results of their individual needs assessment. The following activities are an example of services provided under the six components by CIS of Baytown.
Every child deserves to have a positive relationship with a caring adult. CISB assigns a full-time case manager on school campuses to be available to assist students with any issues that might hamper their academic success. Case Managers who are assigned to school campuses provide case management services for any student who is struggling with academics, behavior, and attendance or family issues.
Helping students make a smooth transition to college is an important goal for Communities in Schools of Baytown. Our staff assist high school students with the college process by providing opportunities to attend college nights, financial aid workshops, and to tour college campuses.
Case Managers also serve as an advocate for students who must appear in juvenile court. CISB collaborates with Harris County’s Precinct Three Juvenile Court, GCCISD, and Harris County Children’s Protective Services to assist students who have received citations for various offenses on the school campus.
